Storage Bloomsbury Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Storage Bloomsbury has taken, and is continuing to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Bloomsbury is committed to conducting business in an ethical, transparent and responsible manner, and to respecting the fundamental human rights of everyone who works for or with us.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Bloomsbury maintains a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, servitude and labour exploitation. We expect the same high standards from all those we work with, including employees, contractors, agency staff, suppliers and other business partners.
No form of modern slavery will be tolerated within our own operations or our supply chains. If any instance of non-compliance is identified, we will take prompt and decisive action, which may include termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities and support for affected individuals where appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Bloomsbury provides storage and related services to individual and business customers. Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, facility management services, security, cleaning, packaging materials, maintenance contractors, professional services and equipment suppliers. We recognise that risks may arise at multiple levels of the supply chain, particularly where goods or services originate from higher risk sectors or regions.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our values and uphold ethical labour practices. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing management processes, we seek to ensure that suppliers understand and adhere to our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery.
Our approach includes risk-based due diligence, where we consider the nature of the goods or services provided, the geographic location of operations and any other relevant risk indicators. Where we identify higher risk categories, we may seek additional assurances or supporting documentation from suppliers regarding their labour practices, policies and control measures.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Storage Bloomsbury is implementing supplier audits and monitoring to verify compliance with our expectations on modern slavery and human rights. These activities may include requesting evidence of policies, training records and procedures, as well as conducting site visits where appropriate and feasible.
Where concerns are identified, we will engage with the supplier to understand the issues and agree remedial action plans and timeframes. Failure to address serious or repeated concerns may result in the suspension or termination of the business relationship. Our ongoing monitoring is focused on continuous improvement, encouraging suppliers to strengthen their own controls and oversight.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Storage Bloomsbury encourages all employees, workers, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or unethical labour practices in our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels, including line managers or designated senior management, or in accordance with our whistleblowing procedures.
Reports will be treated seriously and handled as sensitively and confidentially as possible. We will not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith, and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and address any issues that are identified.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that effective prevention of modern slavery requires awareness and understanding across our organisation. Where relevant to their role, employees receive information about our zero-tolerance policy, the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns. We aim to strengthen awareness among those involved in procurement, supplier management and facilities operations, so that potential risks can be identified and acted upon swiftly.
Oversight and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery and human trafficking rests with the senior management of Storage Bloomsbury. We are committed to reviewing this statement and our supporting practices at least once every year, and more frequently if required by changes in regulation, our operations or risk profile.
As part of the annual review, we will assess the effectiveness of our policies, supplier due diligence, audits, reporting mechanisms and training, and identify opportunities to strengthen our controls. This Modern Slavery Statement represents our ongoing commitment to improving transparency and protecting the rights and welfare of all those connected to our business and supply chains.
